MICA Announces New Executive Director

St Paul, MN — Thursday, January 9, 2025 – The Minnesota Inter-County Association (MICA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Nathan Jesson as its new Executive Director.
Jesson brings a wealth of experience in intergovernmental relations and public policy, having previously served in roles such as an Intergovernmental Relations Representative for the League of Minnesota Cities, Tax Committee Administrator for the Minnesota House of Representatives, and Policy Advisor to the Commissioner of Revenue.
"Nathan's extensive background and dedication to public service make him the ideal candidate to lead MICA into the future," said Stearns County Commissioner Tarryl Clark, President of the MICA Board of Directors. "We are confident that under Nathan's leadership, MICA will continue to effectively advocate for the interests of Minnesota's counties."
Nathan expressed his enthusiasm for the new role, stating, "I am honored to join MICA and look forward to working with our member counties to address the critical issues facing our communities. Together, we'll provide the pragmatic problem solving needed to address public policy challenges and increase the quality of life in Minnesota."
Jesson holds a bachelor's degree in political science from Hendrix College, and a master's degree in public service from the Clinton School of Public Service at the University of Arkansas.
Jesson will officially assume his new role with MICA on Monday, January 13.
